ART INSTALLATIONS BY STUDENTS STAND OUT AT JLF 2024
Jaipur :  2 February At the 17th Edition of Jaipur Literature Festival, which is going on at Hotel Clarks Amer, students of Jayshree Periwal International School have installed art structures that are all about bringing a fresh perspective and a wave of change in society.

The first art installation, called ‘Perspective’, depicts how everyone has their journey and cannot be curtailed by societal norms. Made out of waste materials like fallen tree branches and cardboards, the installation exhibits vibrant and colorful butterflies. Shreya Maheshwari from class 12 and Aashika Gupta of class 11, the curators of this installation, said that through the artwork, they wanted to portray that despite the social boundaries and social expectations, everyone is different and takes their own path to build their life just like a butterfly.

Another installation by the JPIS students, called ‘Dismantled Emotions’, intricately depicts the plight of teenagers in the current times, and how emotional disbalances like loneliness, depression impacts them. The installation made from materials like recycled fibers, used clay, raisin, metal rod, shows different organs in different colors, depicting a spectrum of emotions.

One of the curators, Jennie Goyal of class 11 said that the motive behind the installation was to show the emotional disarray of teenagers, and how when they go through mental pressure, they have no one to talk to. The installation is a means to spread awareness for more support and friendly shoulders, she said.
